Kevin De Bruyne suffered a serious injury during the match between Napoli and Inter on October 25, 2025. After scoring a penalty, the Belgian star felt pain in the back of his right thigh. Medical tests have confirmed a high-grade tear of the hamstring, which will force him to face a long spell on the sidelines.
The player underwent surgery in Antwerp, and the operation was completely successful. The estimated recovery time is at least three months, with a possible return no earlier than February 2026.
The injury is a serious blow for Antonio Conte’s team, which loses its key midfield organizer. Belgium will also have to cope without its captain for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
De Bruyne, coming off an excellent start to the season, will now have to face a new rehabilitation process.
Dr. Fabrizio Tencone, Managing Director of the Isokinetic Clinic in Turin, spoke about the incident during an appearance on Sky Sport.
