An injury can radically change an athlete’s routine, particularly when it involves someone who has represented Italy at the Olympic Games. Nicola Celon, a sailor from Verona who competed at the Sydney 2000 Olympics and is a keen cross-country skier, had to undergo a rehabilitation programme at our Isokinetic Verona centre following an injury sustained during his skiing activity.
From his first consultation to his return to sport, Nicola shares his experience: the initial concerns, the daily recovery work, and the emotions that accompanied each stage of his rehabilitation journey. A first-hand account of how, even for those who have lived through the Olympic experience, the right medical and physiotherapy support makes all the difference in returning to one’s sporting passions.
