The Isokinetic Conference was mentioned during the popular Tv Show “Big 4 by Betsson”. Big4 is a daily sports talk show produced by SPORT24 channel, focusing on the major Greek clubs (Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, AEK and PAOK) and the latest developments in football and basketball analysing news, transfers and tactical topics from Greek and European sports.
The program is hosted by “four big” sports journalists such as Spyros Kavalieratos, Themis Kaisaris, Konstantinos Melayies and Lambros Balafas.
The Isokinetic Conference is one of the largest international gatherings focused on football medicine, orthopaedic rehabilitation and sports science, bringing together doctors, physiotherapists, researchers and professionals from clubs and federations worldwide. It is organised since 1992 by the Isokinetic Medical Group, in collaboration with football institutions such as FIFA.
Over the years, the Conference has been hosted in some of the world’s most iconic stadiums, including the Wembley Stadium, Stamford Bridge, the legendary Camp Nou, and the Civitas Metropolitano. Each year, more than 2,500 professionals from over 90 countries gather under FIFA and Isokinetic’s shared umbrella, creating a genuine cultural hub where the entire football medicine community comes together to share science, clinical knowledge and daily patient-care experience.
This 2026 edition of the Isokinetic Conference lands in Athens, continuing its tradition of excellence and international collaboration. The conference will be held at the Megaron Athens International Conference Centre (MAICC), one of the finest and most technologically advanced conference venues in Europe that seamlessly blends state-of-the-art facilities with the rich cultural heritage of Athens.
The focus will be on Return to performance, the ultimate goal of every patient after injury. The line between rehabilitation and performance is getting finer and finer. The Football Medicine Community is already pushing the boundaries of functional outcomes, often including football-specific metrics. However, results remain challenging, with only 50% of players getting back to full football performance after ACL injury. Integrating physical and sports-specific domains, we should clearly define our goal, while optimising our approach and progressively becoming “Performance Doctors”.
The 2026 faculty reflects the Conference’s global prestige, with the presence, among others, of leading representatives from FIFA, UEFA and the major international scientific societies, as well as doctors from many prominent European and world team, and internationally renowned surgeons.
