On Monday, October 19, 2026, an engaging day of learning took place with colleagues from the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), who chose the Isokinetic Campus in Bologna for their specialist training course on Return to Play and Return to Performance in football.
The morning began with a session on “Principles of Gym-Based Rehabilitation: Characteristics, Goals and Content,” led by Isokinetic rehabilitation specialist Damiano Cianciullo. This was followed by an in-depth presentation by Dr. Francesco Della Villa, Director of our Education and Research Department, on the biomechanical aspects of rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction.
The day continued with three sessions. The first, led by Dr. Gianni Nanni, focused on restoring strength in patients with muscle injuries, with particular attention to hamstring syndrome. The second, presented by rehabilitation specialists Alessandra Orlando and Antonio Tamisari, explored “Mid-Stage Rehabilitation: Integrating Strength Recovery into Long-Term Rehabilitation Priorities.” The event concluded with a group workshop led by Davide Pisoni, focusing on knee instability, MCL and ACL injuries, and the return to running.
