From muscle strengthening to biomechanical correction, Isokinetic offers a protocol based on specific criteria for complete recovery and a quick return to sport.
Patellofemoral pain syndrome is a common condition, experienced by 40% of the population at least once.
The main symptom is anterior knee pain, usually felt around the kneecap, which worsens with certain activities (like landing, squatting, walking downhill, descending stairs, or sitting for extended periods).
It is more common among active women and is especially connected to sports that involve directional changes and jumping.
To ensure full recovery, at Isokinetic we adhere to a criteria-based protocol. These are the key components of our approach:
- · Detailed medical evaluation with one of our physicians.
- · Pain management techniques.
- · Strengthening of the ankle, knee, and hip muscles (exercises mainly conducted in the gym)
- · Correction of lower limb biomechanics: for example, the way you move (primarily addressed in the Green Room)
- · Careful load management (total volume and frequency, with GPS tracking on the field)
- · Proper progression: (I) strengthening > (II) movement quality re-education > (III) on-field rehabilitation for a complete return to sport
- · Adequate time to complete the recovery process: over 2 months.
