On February 25th, Isokinetic Verona hosted the inaugural evening of Salute, Scienza e Sport, focused on meniscal injuries in athletes — from injury management to return to sport. The event brought together around 50 professionals, including physicians, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, and healthcare providers.
Expert-Led Scientific Insights
The event included focused scientific presentations delivered by specialists, including:
- Daniele Screpis – Orthopaedic and Trauma Specialist with expertise in knee surgery and in the clinical management of meniscal injuries, from therapeutic indication to functional recovery.
- Emanuele Brotto – Consultant in Sports and Exercise Medicine and Medical Director of Isokinetic Verona, with advanced expertise in clinical assessment, musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging and integrated post-injury management of athletes.
- Matteo Azzini – Head of Rehabilitation at Isokinetic Verona, specialised in functional rehabilitation, injury prevention and movement analysis, with extensive experience in return-to-sport programmes.
- Alessio Guandalini – Local Director of the Isokinetic Verona Centre, with a key role in coordinating clinical and rehabilitation pathways and in developing personalised, high-standard models of patient care.
The presentations addressed topics ranging from the clinical assessment of the athlete undergoing rehabilitation to the integration of sports medicine principles within performance-driven clinical practice.
The speakers presented real clinical cases, scientific data, and reflections on return to sport following injury, fostering continuous dialogue with the audience and emphasizing the importance of structured, evidence-based, athlete-centred pathways.
