The 33rd edition of the Isokinetic Conference 2026, centred on the theme “Return to Performance”, took place from 18 to 20 April at the Megaron in Athens.
Organised in collaboration with FIFA, it is one of the leading international events in sports and football medicine, bringing together specialists from around the world each year to discuss injury prevention, rehabilitation and return to performance.
In 2026, Isokinetic Verona once again played an active role in the event, contributing with its expertise in scientific research, clinical practice and innovation in sports rehabilitation.
The role of Isokinetic Verona at the 2026 Conference
Among the key contributors, Medical Director Emanuele Brotto chaired the poster session “Physical Therapies Strategies”, focusing on the latest therapeutic approaches in rehabilitation.
An important opportunity for international exchange, enabling the exploration of innovative approaches and the sharing of best practice in sports physiotherapy.
Focus on ACL, injuries and return to play: the contribution of Isokinetic Verona
Matteo Azzini chaired the session “ACL – Rehabilitation & RTP”, one of the most current topics in anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rehabilitation, with a strong focus on return to sport after injury.
Giorgio Mignanelli presented the scientific poster:
“Return to World Cup after a tibia-fibula fracture: a high-performance rehabilitation pathway in an elite cross-country skier”, outlining an advanced rehabilitation pathway in an elite athlete.
Matteo Baroli, meanwhile, presented:
“Return to half marathon after an overuse injury in a young non-professional athlete”, offering a practical perspective on the management of overuse injuries in amateur sport.
