From 20 to 22 May 2026, Isokinetic took part in the 22nd ESSKA International Congress in Prague, with a significant scientific presence.
Several doctors from the group presented contributions across 12 different sessions: Dr Francesco Della Villa, Dr Stefano Della Villa, Matthew Buckthorpe and Ing. Stefano Di Paolo.
The Role of Dr Francesco Della Villa
Dr Francesco Della Villa, Director of the Education and Research Department at Isokinetic Medical Group (FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence), has held international scientific roles in sports medicine, biomechanics and orthopaedic rehabilitation for many years. His appointment as Chair of the ESSKA Sports Medicine Section (ESMA, European Sports Medicine Association) at the 2026 Prague Congress reflects a record of international standing across several elite scientific societies, including:
- ESSKA (European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy): in addition to his appointment as Chair of the Sports Medicine Section (ESMA), he has been an active member of the society for several years,
- FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence Advisory Group: Is part of the restricted global advisory group that guides FIFA’s medical guidelines, personally contributing to the definition of international strategies for health, prevention and trauma management in professional football.
- ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine): Actively participates as a member of global scientific committees, promoting the standardization of post-surgical rehabilitation protocols for the shoulder and knee.
- ICRS (International Cartilage Regeneration & Joint Preservation Society): Actively contributes to committees dedicated to the treatment of cartilage lesions and joint preservation in high-level athletes.
- ACL Study Group: A selected member of this prestigious and exclusive global scientific community (which brings together the world’s leading experts on the anterior cruciate ligament), participating as a featured speaker at its biennial international meetings.
At Isokinetic, Dr. Della Villa coordinates training and research projects for physicians, physiotherapists, and trainees from various countries, as part of international fellowship programs.
