After Athens, the international sports medicine community will reunite in Milan. The Isokinetic Conference — the world’s largest international congress dedicated to football medicine, organised in collaboration with FIFA and now in its 34th edition — will take place at Allianz MiCo Milan from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 April 2027. The event’s theme is made clear from its very title: Reach the Top.
It’s more than just a slogan. For three days, orthopaedic surgeons, sports physicians, physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, researchers and students from across the world come together under one roof to discuss the topics reshaping the way athletes are treated and returned to sport. From elite Return to Play strategies and cutting-edge biomechanics to clinical research challenging traditional rehabilitation protocols, the conference showcases the latest advances in sports medicine.
And there’s now another reason to save the date: the final 2027 Timetable is now available online. The complete programme for all three days can be explored on the official website, session by session, in its final version. It’s the first practical tool for planning your schedule in Milan and identifying exactly where and when the topics that matter most to you will be discussed.
More Than a Conference
Those who have attended before already know: the Isokinetic Conference is an experience in its own right. It’s far more than a platform for scientific presentations. It’s a place to learn from the world’s leading experts, expand your professional network, discover the latest innovations in sports technology within the exhibition area and, above all, feel part of a community. It’s a spirit the organisers sum up in a single word: family.
At the heart of it all is a uniquely diverse community: world-leading figures in football medicine alongside emerging researchers, national team and club physicians sharing ideas with students taking their first steps into the profession. It’s this blend of experience, perspectives and disciplines that makes Milan 2027 an opportunity unlike any other.
A Platform for Those Driving Research Forward
One of the defining features of the Conference is that it doesn’t just showcase established names – it also provides a platform for those with new ideas and fresh evidence to share. The Call for Abstracts is now open, and the highest-rated submissions, selected by the International Scientific Committee, will be presented during the Next Generation Leader Sessions and published in the official Abstract Book.
A range of awards will also recognise the most outstanding scientific contributions, reflecting the key directions of contemporary research. These include the Best Case Report Contest, the Best Poster Award, and dedicated prizes for the best research on ACL injuries, orthoregeneration, and women’s football—highlighting the growing importance of the latter within the international scientific community.
