Patients insured with AXA PPP, Cigna and International SOS in Greece can now access the specialist services of Isokinetic Athens through a direct billing agreement. This allows eligible patients to benefit from world-class Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation services without paying covered treatment costs upfront under their health insurance plan.

An international centre of excellence in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation

Founded in Italy in 1987, Isokinetic Medical Group has become one of the leading international centres of excellence in Orthopaedic Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine. Recognised as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence, the Group has treated more than half a million patients over the years, ranging from recreational athletes to elite international sports professionals.

The new Isokinetic Athens clinic brings to Greece a proven model of care built on nearly four decades of clinical experience. Its integrated approach combines specialist medical expertise, functional rehabilitation and advanced technologies to optimise recovery and restore movement.

The Isokinetic Method: from diagnosis to return to activity

What sets Isokinetic apart is its One-Stop Shop approach, where every stage of the patient journey is delivered within the same facility. From the initial specialist consultation to full functional recovery, patients benefit from a seamless and fully integrated model of care.

Each patient is supported by a specialist physician who acts as a Case Manager, coordinating every phase of the treatment pathway. Following a comprehensive clinical assessment and an accurate diagnosis, a personalised rehabilitation programme is developed and continuously monitored through regular medical reviews and close collaboration with the multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.

The goal is not simply to relieve pain or treat the underlying condition, but to achieve the highest possible level of functional recovery. By restoring movement, strength and confidence, the Isokinetic Method enables patients to return safely to their daily activities, work, physical activity or sport in the best possible condition.

A multidisciplinary team dedicated to patient care

At Isokinetic Athens, patients insured with AXA PPP, International SOS and Cigna benefit from the expertise of a multidisciplinary team that includes:

  • – Specialist physicians
  • – Advanced diagnostic imaging services and second opinion consultations
  • – Functional rehabilitation specialists
  • – Physiotherapists
  • – Strength and conditioning specialists
  • – Chiropractors
  • – Dedicated patient care and pathway coordination staff

This integrated multidisciplinary model ensures comprehensive, patient-centred care and seamless coordination throughout every stage of the rehabilitation journey.

Exercise as therapy

At the core of the Isokinetic Method is the belief that movement is the most powerful therapeutic tool.

Every rehabilitation programme is personalised and built around therapeutic exercise, taking into account tissue healing, biomechanics, each patient’s individual abilities and personal goals. This evidence-based approach ensures that every stage of rehabilitation is tailored to the patient’s specific needs while promoting safe and effective recovery.

Regular functional testing is used to objectively assess strength, coordination, endurance and movement quality. These measurable outcomes allow the rehabilitation team to continuously adapt the programme according to the patient’s progress and recovery goals, ensuring the most effective path back to full function.

Specialised rehabilitation facilities

The rehabilitation journey takes place across a range of highly specialised facilities, each designed to support the patient’s diagnostic and therapeutic experience while minimising delays and ensuring a seamless pathway to recovery. After all, we know that your time is just as valuable as your rehabilitation.

Therapeutic Pool

Our on-site therapeutic pool allows patients to begin rehabilitation at an early stage by harnessing the benefits of water-based therapy. By reducing the load on the joints while promoting safe movement, hydrotherapy can facilitate recovery and help patients regain confidence in movement sooner.

Rehabilitation and Exercise Gym

This dedicated rehabilitation area is designed to restore joint mobility, muscle strength and coordination through personalised exercise programmes. Every session is closely supervised by our physiotherapists and rehabilitation specialists, ensuring that exercises are performed safely and effectively. Your physician is always nearby and actively involved in monitoring your progress throughout the rehabilitation process.

Green Room

The Green Room is an advanced assessment and rehabilitation space equipped with force platforms and motion analysis systems. These technologies enable clinicians to identify and address biomechanical deficits, objectively monitor progress and reduce the risk of re-injury through targeted interventions.

Sports Field

The sports field represents the final stage of the rehabilitation pathway. Here, patients progressively regain sport-specific skills, movement patterns and confidence, allowing them to return safely to sport and physical activity while overcoming the fear of re-injury.
